Tale of Flocksworth
I took a small dip into variety this week, adding a fade to black and a fade back when entering and exiting buildings. This marks the first thing I’ve done that could be considered part of the HUD, though I’m not sure I’ve done it right. Besides that, any buildings with open doors will have their doors remain open when unloaded and then reloaded. This was a fun challenge only because I think I store buildings in a really dumb way.
GMod Server Chat Routing
I’ve had an itch to do more Garry’s Mod stuff lately and I devised yet another harebrained scheme for a needlessly-complicated server. Part of this scheme requires being able to chat across multiple servers, so I wrote a proof of concept for cross-server communication. I’m not a huge fan of HTTP.
Money Spew
Because I thought it would look more appealing than spawning a single bundle of money on the floor, I wrote a script that causes dead players to spew all of their money out of themselves when they die in several small bundles of cash. It does look cool.
STChopShop
I had an idea for a chop shop addon a couple years ago and while I was doing both of the above, I decided to just take a stab at it today. This addon would allow you to take apart cars and sell the parts for money or something. So far, you can only take the cars apart. You can view this and the money spew here.
